Frequently asked questions

Getting started

Is KILO free?

Yes. Without paying anything you can log your workouts, keep your full history, track personal records, and use the app offline. You also get iCloud Sync, 3 templates, 10 custom exercises, 30-day and 90-day progress charts for any exercise, and a Live Activity that keeps your rest timer on the Lock Screen.

What devices does KILO support?

KILO runs on iPhone and Apple Watch. You will need iOS 26 or later on your iPhone, and watchOS 26 or later for the Apple Watch app, which comes with KILO Pro.

Two things depend on which iPhone you have. Live Activities show up on the Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island if your iPhone has one. AI workout summaries need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence switched on.

Do I need an account to use KILO?

No. Download KILO and you can start logging straight away, with no sign-up, and iCloud Sync works without an account too. The only reason to create one is KILO Sync, which comes with KILO Pro.

Can I use KILO without an Apple Watch?

Yes. The iPhone app is complete on its own. If you do wear one, the Apple Watch app that comes with KILO Pro lets you start a workout, log your sets, and follow your rest timer from your wrist, with your live heart rate on screen while you train.

How do I change between kilograms and pounds?

Open Settings in KILO and switch Unit System between Kilograms and Pounds. Everything you have already logged is converted for you, and if you switch back your original numbers return exactly as you entered them.

Can I import data from another workout app?

Not yet. Email us and tell us which app you are moving from, because that is how we decide which imports to build first. Going the other way, KILO Pro can export your whole history as a CSV file whenever you want a copy of your data.

KILO Pro

What does KILO Pro include?

KILO Pro gives you the Apple Watch app, unlimited templates and custom exercises, and the long view of your training: progress over six months, a year or all time, muscle group breakdowns, strength goals, and heart-rate timelines for any workout that recorded heart rate, such as one tracked with your Apple Watch.

It also adds AI workout summaries on iPhones with Apple Intelligence, rest timer alarms, workout controls from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, KILO Sync across your devices, and CSV export of your history.

How much does KILO Pro cost?

KILO Pro is £3.99 a month, or £29.99 for a year, which works out about 37% cheaper than paying monthly. The yearly plan starts with a free week, so you can try everything before you pay anything. You can subscribe from anywhere you come across a Pro feature in the app.

How do I manage or cancel KILO Pro?

Your subscription is held by Apple rather than by us. Open Apple’s subscription settings, choose KILO, and you can move between monthly and yearly or cancel from there. If you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Features and sync

How does sync work?

There are two ways to sync, and you choose one in Settings. iCloud Sync is free and keeps a private copy of your training in your own iCloud account, rather than on KILO’s servers. KILO Sync comes with KILO Pro and keeps your devices in step through your KILO account. Only one can be switched on at a time.

How are Insights generated?

KILO looks at how you have trained an exercise before, how long you usually leave between sessions, and the experience level you picked, then offers suggestions for where to take it next. It works this out on your iPhone, and nothing about your training is sent anywhere to do it. If you would rather not see them, you can turn Insights off in Settings.

How do AI workout summaries work?

When you finish training, KILO can write you a couple of sentences on how it went, using only what is already in your workout summary: your sets, how long you trained, the volume you moved, the muscles you worked, your notes, and any personal records. Apple Intelligence writes it on your iPhone, so the workout never leaves your device.

You will need KILO Pro and an iPhone with Apple Intelligence switched on. If it is unavailable, KILO tells you why and the rest of your summary carries on as normal.

Does KILO read from Apple Health?

Only if you let it. With your permission, KILO reads your heart rate from your Apple Watch while a workout is running, and saves each finished session to Apple Health so it sits alongside the rest of your activity. You can check what you have shared, or take the permission away again, at any time in Apple Health or Settings.

Data and support

How do I delete my account or data?

To clear your workouts, open Settings in KILO and tap Reset All Data. That wipes everything on your iPhone, along with whatever your sync is holding, whether that is iCloud Sync or KILO Sync. Deleting the app does the same for anything that only ever lived on your iPhone.

If you have a KILO account, choosing Delete Account in your account settings permanently deletes it, along with everything stored in KILO Sync. Workouts saved on your iPhone stay where they are, and KILO Pro keeps billing until you cancel it in Apple’s subscription settings. The Privacy Policy covers exactly what we delete.

I found a bug or have a feature request.

Email KILO Support and tell us what went wrong, what you were doing just before it happened, and which iPhone and iOS version you are on. A screenshot always helps. Feature requests are just as welcome — plenty of what is in KILO today started as one.
